Maria Alejandra Montoya Rubiano, MD

Maria Alejandra was born in Bogota Colombia, where she graduated with honors from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana with an MD degree. She is a dedicated and proactive professional, passionate about public health and thoracic surgery with a special interest in research and teaching. Fluent in English and Spanish, she is committed to helping members of the Hispanic community receive effective evaluation and surgical treatment that positively impacts their physical and mental health. Her clinical professional experience includes working at Mederi University Hospital in Bogota, Colombia, where she was a member of the Thoracic Surgery Department and served as surgical assistant in both open and thoracoscopic procedures. She also assisted in general surgery procedures at San Ignacio University Hospital in Bogota, Colombia. 

Maria Alejandra has presented her research work from Colombia at national and international conferences on pediatric and pulmonary surgery. Her main hobbies are yoga and outdoor activities such as hiking. She is also very family-oriented and enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends.
