Orly Farber, MD, is a general surgery resident at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She grew up in Rockville, Maryland and received her bachelor’s degree in Comparative Human Development at the University of Chicago. She spent two years at the NIH as a postbaccalaureate fellow, before heading to Stanford Medical School. Her current research interests are in palliative care, geriatric surgery, and serious illness. She also is passionate about medical humanities and has worked in medical journalism. In her free time, Orly enjoys reading and writing, running, and baking.
