Ali Dzhemiliev, MD, grew up in Crimea, Ukraine. In 2013, he entered the Crimean State Medical School. However, due to the Russian occupation of Crimea in 2014, he moved to Kyiv, Ukraine, where he graduated from Bogomolets National Medical University in 2019. Following his graduation, he began his general surgery residency at the Shalimov Institute of Surgery in Kyiv, which he completed under the conditions of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. Since December 2022, he has been working as a research fellow at CSPH under the mentorship of Dr. Nelya Melnitchouk. His research is primarily focused on improving colorectal cancer screening and surgical education in Ukraine. Additionally, he is involved in the development of a mobile application called HealUA, which aims to facilitate peer-to-peer physician consultations. In his free time, he enjoys activities such as running, playing the guitar, and singing.
