Hiba Dhanani, MD, ScM, is a General Surgery resident at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. She grew up nearby in Lexington, MA. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Anthropology with a minor in Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies at Haverford College. From there, she worked as a case manager in Camden, NJ and then went on to receive her MD and ScM in Population Medicine from the Warren Alpert School of Medicine at Brown University. At Baystate, Dr. Dhanani one of the founding members of the Hospital Based-Violence Intervention Program, “Better Tomorrow”. She is interested in Trauma/EGS/Critical Care and its intersection with palliative care and aging. She also serves on the American Surgical Education Association’s committee on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, exploring new places, and nice cannoli in the North End.
