Jake Awtry, MD, MA is a General Surgery resident at Brigham & Women’s Hospital currently completing two years of dedicated research. He was raised outside of Boston in Hingham, MA. He completed a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology as well as a master’s degree in Biotechnology at Boston University prior to attending Johns Hopkins for medical school. During his time as a research fellow his work will focus on disparities in access to transcatheter treatment technologies in cardiac surgery. He enjoys spending time with his wife and dog, listening to podcasts, weightlifting, and cycling.
