Annabelle Jones, MD is a General Surgery resident at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She was born and raised in Homer, New York, on a working horse and cattle farm. She attended Middlebury College, where she completed a Bachelor of Arts in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, as well as a minor in Global Health. Throughout her undergraduate studies she competed for the Middlebury College Women’s Ice Hockey team as a goaltender. She completed her medical degree at Stony Brook University School of Medicine, with research focused on global health disparities. Her work as a CSPH Fellow will focus on improving access to surgical care globally and health systems strengthening under the mentorship of Dr. Riviello. To support her efforts, she will be studying Quantitative Methods while obtaining a Master of Public Health throughout her fellowship time. She plans to ultimately pursue a career in academic colorectal surgery, with a research focus of global health system strengthening. In her free time, Dr. Jones enjoys hiking, running, CrossFit, camping, cooking, and expanding her collection of plants.
