Patrick Heindel, MD is a general surgery resident at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He was born in Bethesda, Maryland and moved throughout the country during childhood as the son of two US Navy nurses. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland, College Park, and his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. He is now completing two years of professional development as an NIH T32 research fellow in the Harvard–Longwood Research Training in Vascular Surgery Program, while concurrently pursuing a Master’s of Public Heath from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. His research interests include applying data science techniques and informatics to provide better patient–centered and evidence–based care for trauma and vascular surgery patients. In his free time, he enjoys mountain biking, backpacking, and trail running – all of which are made better with the company of his dog.
