Ava Ferguson Bryan, MD, is a General Surgery Resident at The University of Chicago, and Masters of Public Health student at the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health. She is the recent recipient of the Hilger Perry Jenkins Award for teaching and mentorship from the University of Chicago – Pritzker School of Medicine. Her academic interests are surgical education, surgical ethics, thoracic surgery, trauma surgery, healthcare equity, cancer screening, and gun violence prevention. Her extracurricular interests are trail running, skiing, hiking, longform non-fiction, design, photography, environmental justice, and family.
