EPIC Collaboration Extended for 2018-2019

The 5-year collaboration between the CSPH and the Uniformed Services University has been reauthorized for another year, with a $880,000 grant from the Henry M. Jackson Foundation and a renewed focus on low value care. Publishing 30 articles to date across multiple research areas since 2016, utilizing the TRICARE military insurance database, the collaboration continues to inform discussions on healthcare reform and the U.S. as a whole. Research areas have encompassed racial disparities in outcomes, provider-induced demand,prescription opioid use and abuse, and most recently pediatric surgery.
