Senior Project Manager
Avni Gupta, BDS, MPH works as a Research Scientist and Senior Project Manager at CSPH. She completed her Master’s in Public Health (MPH) in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and Bachelor in Dental Surgery (BDS) from Government Dental College and Hospital, Jaipur in India. At CSPH, she manages projects focused on research ethics in patient-centered outcomes research (funded by PCORI), Non-Technical Skills of surgeons and surgical residents (funded by NBME) and Non-Technical Skills of astronauts in managing medical emergencies in the space (funded by NASA). In addition, she also supports other projects aimed at studying end-of-life care, transmission of unique device identifiers to claims database and the use of process models to standardize critical procedural steps during cardiac surgery. Her scope of work ranges from grant and IRB submissions, planning data collection, screening, recruitment, instrument development, data analysis, manuscripts and coordinating project’s activities among stakeholders. Besides supporting these projects, she also conducts research focused on oral healthcare access, disparities, quality of services and policies, using national and state level databases. She aspires to contribute towards improving equitable access to and the quality of oral healthcare services. She was awarded the Delta Omega Alpha Chapter Honor from the National Public Health Honor Society, and is certified in Public Health by the NBPHE. She loves animals, dance, cooking, fitness, running, hiking, squash and badminton.
